Clinical Breast Examiner Certification
This gold-standard certification course allows clinicians to be trained in their own clinics using live HIPAA-compliant video conferences. Clinicians use the AI Breast Exam Trainer and then advance to instructor-led surrogate patient exams.
SETTING THE STANDARD
The MammaCare Method® is the recognized standard for clinical breast examination — built on decades of research supported by the National Cancer Institute and National Science Foundation. Quality breast exams can detect interval cancers and small changes that imaging alone can miss, making it an essential and irreplaceable component of breast cancer screening.
MammaCare Clinical Breast Examiner Certification validates mastery of the method, evaluating each provider against established performance standards for sensitivity, specificity, and thoroughness. The course is delivered one-on-one via HIPAA-compliant video, bringing live instruction and surrogate examination directly to your clinic, with no travel required.
Before you begin
Currently available to U.S.-licensed clinicians only. Accepted credentials:
Two surrogate patients are required for the live certification exam.
Sessions run over HIPAA-compliant video. A stable connection and basic IT support ensure the certification proceeds without interruption.
Live surrogate exams are conducted in an examination room. No specialized facilities are required beyond what is standard in most outpatient settings.
The Training Protocol
Certification follows a structured protocol: self-paced online preparation followed by two instructor-led teletraining days over HIPAA-compliant video.
Providers work through MammaCare's online pre-training curriculum — assessing breast health knowledge and learning the 5 Ps of the MammaCare Method® — then practice palpation on tactually-accurate breast models to build the foundational technique before applying these skills on the AI Breast Exam Trainer and surrogate patients.
A MammaCare staff member meets with the provider to review the teletraining equipment, setup the AI Breast Exam Trainer, and ensure everything is in place for a smooth Day 2 with live surrogate exams.
The provider will meet standards of sensitivty, specifity and throughness across all AI Breast Exam Trainer modules.
Providers complete final assessments and meet all proficiency standards to earn the CBE-MC designation.
